Vicki caught up with Sound Artist Bulblet (a.k.a Mat Hawkins) to ask some FOUR CORNERS inspired questions and discovered there's more TO this man than meets the eye...

V: What's the strangest thing that's in your bag right now?

M- It’s between two things - my Japanese gremlin which I got at a Takashi Murakami exhibition in Tokyo, although technically that’s on my bag as it dangles from the zip. Or my cable ties - generally for fixing things but I do always think if I had to make a citizens arrest I could use them to restrain someone!

V: When was the last time you danced in the street?

M: I don’t generally dance in the street - I leave that to Francis! But I did dance around a fire whilst on honeymoon in Gambia and the locals seemed to think I had a natural flair.

V: What did your mum get most frustrated with you about when you were younger?

M: I used to wake up in the middle of the night crying because I didn’t know what the meaning of life was. I also used to insist on drinking 4 pints of milk a day. I now experience some related medical problems, maybe mum's do know best!

V: Do you have any hobbies?

M: Yes collecting weird instruments, although I don't play them as much as I'd like to.

V: Lastly, why should people come and see FOUR CORNERS?

M: It’s unlike anything I’ve seen before. BLINK are doing really exciting things bringing diverse people and art forms together to convey messages that are not just about disability but about being human.
