FIND YOUR OWN at the Oska Bright Film Festival
We are excited to share that our film, FIND YOUR OWN, has been selected for the Oska Bright Film Festival 2024!
The Oska Bright Film Festival is the world’s biggest learning disability film festival, presented by Carousel. The Brighton-based arts organisation work internationally with industry partners to create the Festival, promote accessible screenings, run training for venues and develop skills for aspiring filmmakers. They’re dedicated to putting people with learning disabilities, autism or Aspergers where they should be; on the big screen. The 2024 Festival runs 11th - 17th March at venues across Brighton.
Our film, FIND YOUR OWN, follows the four BLINK co-directors after they discover a mysterious bomb, which enables them to explore their individual relationships with magic, and how we can use our inner magic to connect with the world and protect others.
FIND YOUR OWN was the first piece of work we created together after the COVID-19 pandemic, using Delson’s love of magic as a catalyst for the story and movement. It was commissioned by Battersea Arts Centre and funded by Necessity, as part of their project to give an opportunity for neurodiverse artists to create a resource for people newly disabled by COVID.
FIND YOUR OWN will be screened as part of ‘Sound & Vision’, a screening which celebrates diverse movement and music. The screening will take place on Wednesday 13th March at 11am, at Brighton Dome Studio Theatre. Some of the BLINK Dance Theatre team will be attending, so we hope to see you there!
